Right of way

Right of way allows someone to pass over or through property they don’t own. 

Rights of way are most likely to be an issue with rural properties where it may mean there is a public footpath or bridleway which may cross the property. Some owners may feel this is an infringement of their privacy but they should be aware that moving or diverting a Right of Way is not an easy thing to do. 

Note: an Easement is different in that it allows access for a specific purpose (maintenance of a wall or power cables for example).
