Possessory title

When the Land Registry isn’t fully satisfied as to the seller’s legal ownership of a property and entitlement to sell it, they may offer a 'possessory title'.

This is usually due to some discrepancy in the title and means that the owner is in legal possession but does not have Absolute Title.
