Contract race

When two or more buyers are competing to be the first to sign contracts to buy a property, they're said to be in a contract race.

This may happen where there have been two or more very similar offers on a property and the vendor wants to go ahead with the buyer who can get everything in place and sign the deal fastest.

If you decide to run a contract race on the sale of your property then your In-Deed lawyer will need to deal with more than one buyer which would fall outside the terms of our Price Promise. In these circumstances we reserve the right to charge an additional £100 for each additional contract issued.
